Engineers: Structural reinforcements needed at Taylor County High School

Members of the Taylor County School Board received a good news/bad news report Tuesday night regarding the state of the high school after a corner section of block collapsed Father’s Day weekend.

“The short end is this—the majority of reinforcement is there. However, it is distinctly lacking in a couple places (specifically) the corners, and along the structure beams that hold up the first and second floor. There are also varying places where it is not present, is too deep or in the wrong location,” Matt Parker of Parker Consulting said.
