Emergency contract issued

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has issued an emergency contract to fill in the sinkhole which has closed SR 51 between Steinhatchee and Tennille.

Work began Wednesday to pump grout into the void located about four miles north of Steinhatchee. “We gave them 10 days to finish the project but they could be completed before then,” FDOT officials said.
