Jobless rate drops to its lowest mark since October 2008

For the second month in a row, Taylor County’s unemployment rate experienced a significant drop in March, now resting at 7.7 percent, its lowest level since October 2008.

After staying mostly level between 9.1 and 9.3 percent for five months, the county’s unemployment rate dropped almost a full percentage point to 8.3 percent in Feburary, falling another 0.6 percentage points in
March.
