County says ‘no’ to beer at BBQ Fest

The Taylor County Commission denied a request from the Perry- Taylor County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Development Council (TDC) to allow the sale of beer at the annual Southern Pines BBQ Festival, which is held annually at the county-owned Forest Capital Park.

Although the board considered putting the issue to county voters next year, a motion to do so failed to receive a second and died instead.
