Research finds that county, not Buckeye, owns Contractor’s Rd.

Contractor’s Road, which is used by log trucks to access the Buckeye Technologies facility, has long been thought by county officials to be a private roadway.

After Buckeye approached the county about resurfacing the road due to safety concerns and possibly adding a third lane for waiting log trucks, officials began researching the history of Contractor’s Road to determine who, in fact, owned it.
