Blount announces candidacy for Dist. 5 county commission seat

Looking to “give back to the community and work to make Taylor County a better place for families,” Johnnie Mae Blount (D) has announced her candidacy for the Board of County Commissioners Dist. 5 seat.

“My family moved to Taylor County when I was 11. My husband, Charlie Blount, was born and raised here. My children live here. As a mother of two children, 10 stepchildren and a total of 28 grandchildren, I know how important it is to live in a thriving community which offers employment, recreational and educational opportunities,” Blount said.
