Taylor’s gas tax one of lowest in state

The Taylor County Commission has renewed its six-cent local option gas tax for another five years, keeping the county’s fuel taxes among the lowest in the state.

At six cents per gallon of fuel, the new levy, which will run from Jan. 1, 2017, to Dec. 31, 2021, will remain level with the existing one, which expires at the end of the year.
