    Flag burned

    Posted on September 23, 2016

The remains of the American flag were still smoldering when police officers arrived at Veterans Memorial Park shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday.

“They took down the flag and attempted to set it on fire. When it didn’t burn like they thought it would, they took it and threw it on the Eternal Flame. That’s what it looks like happened,” Perry Police Department (PPD) Capt. Gene Franklin said.
