State program could help homeowners

While 15 homes received improvements in 2016 thanks to a $194,000 state mitigation grant, there are still people on the county’s waiting list and the commission is seeking a second grant to continue the program.

Last week, the board agreed to apply for a another $194,000 grant from the Florida Division of Emergency Management’s Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program.
