Dedication, 4.0 GPA goal pays for Class of 2013 salutatorian

Conscientious to a fault, Eli Walker usually has no problem following the “don’t-answer-your-phone” policy at work.

But when he saw who the caller was Wednesday—Taylor County High School—he couldn’t resist answering.

Hopefully, his bosses will give him a break, because the call was from high school guidance officials informing him he was salutatorian for this year’s graduating class.
