New firetruck a ‘hybrid’ of fire engine and tanker

Taylor County Fire- Rescue (TCFR) will soon have a new fire engine, after county commissioners agreed to enter into a five-year lease-to-own agreement to purchase the vehicle for a total of $370,098, including interest.

According to Fire Chief Dan Cassel, the new truck will be a “first of its kind in Taylor County” hybrid combining the features of a fire engine and a tanker truck.
