Grand opening attracts crowd

For the second time in a month, city and county officials gathered Thursday morning to welcome a new restaurant to Perry, as Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting event for its new restaurant.
The event began with a prayer led by Taylor County Commissioner Thomas Demps, followed by a welcome from Perry Mayor David Sullivan, who sang the franchise’s slogan, “Love that chicken at Popeyes.”
“I would like to thank every person who had a part in bringing Popeyes here,” Sullivan said.
