Flu epidemic? Local cases 5 times higher than normal

Flu activity is on the rise in the state and across the U.S., and in Taylor County, the local medical community is facing as many as five times the number of flu cases as in previous seasons.

According to Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH) Director of Nursing Mary Lescher, the hospital has seen a major spike in influenza cases this season over previous years.
