Gov. Rick Scott will appoint replacement

Florida Governor Rick Scott is expected to make an appointment to fill Commissioner Frank Russell’s vacant seat on the county commission, however a time frame has not been announced.

On Monday, Taylor County Supervisor of Elections Dana Southerland notified the Florida Division of Elections of Russell’s death, and her office is now awaiting direction from the Governor’s Office concerning how he plans to fill the vacancy.
