Rail project chugs ahead

The Taylor County Commission has approved an agreement with two firms to provide construction, engineering and inspection (CEI) services on the forthcoming $17.3 million project to upgrade the railroad between Perry and Adel, Ga.

The county received the $8.6 million grant from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) in 2017, and Georgia & Florida Railway, LLC, (GFRR) is providing the remainder of the funds.
