    County to hold the line on taxes?

    While the Taylor County Commission is continuing to try to find ways to plug a $700,000 budget deficit for next year, the board is set to approve its proposed property tax millage rates today (Friday), keeping them at current year levels.

    Property values are projected to drop by about one-half percent, resulting in a drop of $35,962 in tax revenues in the county’s general fund if the board keeps tax rates the same, according to figures presented by County Finance Director Tammy Taylor.
