Welcome rain soaks Taylor

A set of back-to-back storm systems dropped as much as eight inches of rain on Taylor County over the past five days, raising local river levels but otherwise producing little reported damage.

The rain began Friday afternoon and continued through most of the weekend, re-intensifying Monday and finally coming to an end Tuesday morning.
During that time, the National Weather Service station at Perry-Foley Airport reported 6.86 inches of rain.
