City pursues $700,000 grant for downtown canopy project

After two and a half years of preparation, the Perry City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to pursue a $700,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to fund Phase I of its downtown canopy project.

The project was part of the master revitalization plan adopted in the summer of 2012 for Perry’s historic downtown business district that also includes the development of Rosehead Park.
