Covenant Hospice agrees to repay feds $10 million over billing errors

Covenant Hospice, Inc., agreed to pay $10,149,374 to reimburse the government last week for alleged overbilling of Medicare, Tricare and Medicaid for hospice services.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced the agreement Thursday, June 18. Covenant Hospice, Inc., is a non-profit hospice care provider which operates in southern Alabama and the Florida Panhandle, including Taylor County.
