Drug arrest sweep nets 8

Another round of arrests Wednesday netted eight suspects linked to a long-term undercover drug-buy operation led by the Perry Police Department (PPD) narcotics unit.

A ninth suspect turned himself in Thursday morning on an unrelated cocaine charge.

“We are using any means necessary to actively enforce drug laws. Drug-related crimes are serious offenses that often lead to more crime and are often interlinked with property crimes. We are doing our best to stem thefts and burglaries that are many times committed by drug users,” Capt. Jamie Cruse said.
