What does new budget year hold for county?

The Taylor County Commission will begin tackling its 2015-16 budget Thursday morning in an attempt to reach a tentative balanced budget by the end of the month.

Although commissioners have already held several lengthy discussions about the budget throughout the spring and early summer, Thursday’s budget workshop, which begins at 9 a.m. at the Courthouse Annex, is the official start of the county’s budget cycle.
