The Taylor County United Way officially kicked off its 2015-16 campaign this week, announcing both a $225,000 fund-raising goal and a new service program designed to help local second graders improve their reading skills.

The campaign team held its annual kick-off breakfast Tuesday morning at the Taylor County Senior Center with about 40 volunteers and supporters in attendance. This year’s theme is “We have a story to tell,” and those stories were weaved into all aspects of Tuesday’s program.
