County moves forward with dredging study

With hopes that expected funds from the British Petroleum (BP) settlement due to Taylor County could cover the costs of much needed dredging along the county’s public canals, commissioners are moving forward with a preliminary engineering study to help determine just how much the work would cost.

Earlier this year, the board agreed to fund the study, which was expected at that time to cost $35,000, and included the item in its capital improvement plan.
