Shady Grove to get community center

Spurred by a request from Commissioner Pam Feagle and about a dozen Shady Grove residents in attendance at Tuesday’s board meeting, the Taylor County Commission is moving forward with designing and constructing a new community center at Shady Grove Park.

Although the issue was not on the original agenda sent out last week, the items were part of an amended agenda approved at the start of Tuesday’s meeting. The cost of the proposed center is not known at this time, but the board agreed to fund the design and construction out of its capital improvement fund.
