Primary school not included in state budget

For the second consecutive year, the Taylor County School District’s request for state funds to help construct a new Perry Primary School has been left out the Florida Legislature’s preliminary budgets.

While Taylor’s request was one of two new projects included in Gov. Rick Scott’s proposed budget to be funded through the Florida Department of Education’s (DOE) Special Facility Construction Account, neither project was included in either the Florida House or Florida Senate budgets released Friday, Jan. 29.
