Fiercely loyal to family and protective of those he loved, Micah Toffate Harris had a special bond with his brother and sisters.
“Mama was almost 40 when she had me and Micah was five years older. We came along when our other brothers and sisters were teenagers and older. Amelia was born in 1957, Marsha in 1958 and Jimmy in 1962. We were the last two of the children. He was my only friend growing up, my best friend as a child,” younger sister Melea Anderson said. “I called him Bubba and he called me Sissy. We both worked the same shift, so every day I’d come in and yell ‘Hey Bubba’ and he’d say, ‘Hey Sissy’.”
The daily routine is just one of countless memories Anderson will carry with her as she and her family say good-bye to Harris, who was killed in an ATV crash Saturday afternoon, April 9, in Shady Grove. He was 45.
