All current county candidates running for office in 2016 have qualified by the petition method, avoiding what can be expensive qualifying fees.
According to Supervisor of Elections Dana Southerland, all 35 candidates for county offices turned in the required number of petitions prior to the May 23 deadline.
The next deadline facing candidates is the qualifying period, which will run from Monday, June 20, at 12 noon, through Friday, June 24, at 12 noon.
