    Don’t fall for it!

    Posted on June 10, 2016

If you win the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, nobody will call you. That’s what a local resident has learned, and hopes to share with others, since being “scammed” by a company posing as PCH.

“They had me when they said I had won $5 million, but then I was supposed to send them a check for $499 so they could process the sweepstakes. And this is what I learned: nobody will ever call, e-mail or text you about the PCH Sweepstakes. The only presentation will be by mail or in person…and there will never be any fee!”

The phone number, she said, was an 876 area code. She submitted no money, but she did report the call to PCH and local authorities.

“I wanted to call the newspaper, too, because I just don’t want anybody ripped off by these people.”
