Lost hat leads to 2-boat crash in Keaton channel

A split-second decision to retrieve a hat proved costly, and was nearly life threatening, for a group of Perry boaters Tuesday morning around 9.

Three local residents were in the lead boat near channel marker 10 at Keaton Beach when someone’s hat was caught by the wind and blown into the water.
