This year’s scallop season, which opens Saturday, June 25, looks to offer a bumper crop to both locals as well as the thousands of visitors expected here during the summer as they test the waters off the Taylor County coast.
The official scallop counts, which were released by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) on Thursday, were the highest reported in at least the past 14 years.

and lots of boats–please be patient while awaiting your turn.” Scouts report one of the highest scallop counts in more than a decade.
