Nationally, the 2016 General Election was one of the most contentious and surprising in recent memory, but in Taylor County, the night was “another smooth, uneventful election.”
That is according to Supervisor of Elections Dana Southerland, who credited her staff, poll workers and the voters themselves for the quiet night, which saw the final precinct sending its figures to her office just 33 minutes after polls closed.
