‘Dogs eliminated from playoffs

For the second straight season, the Taylor County Bulldogs were eliminated from the Class 3A play-offs by three-time defending state champion Jacksonville Trinity Christian. The Conquerors cruised to a 64-16 first-round victory in Jacksonville Friday night.

Unlike last year’s 51-0 second-round defeat at the hands of the Conquerors, this year Taylor County actually grabbed an early 3-0 lead over the talent-rich private school midway through the first quarter on Josh Mixon’s 23-yard field goal – his first of the season.
