While the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), using its own algorithms, initially suggested that there was only $24,000 in damages from Hurricane Hermine in Taylor County, since approving individual assistance for Taylor County, the agency has made $561,000 eligible to local property owners.
That’s according to County Administrator Dustin Hinkel, who told county commissioners Tuesday that FEMA has received 275 registrations from Taylor County.
