Nearly 300 people from Taylor County have registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), claiming $586,745 in damages from Hurricane Hermine, an amount larger than those from five of the eight counties included in the agency’s original declaration.
Taylor County was initially left out of FEMA’s individual assistance declaration in the weeks following Hermine’s landfall, but was added upon a re-evaluation along with Manatee and Wakulla counties.
