Santa’s elves are working diligently to present the Country Christmas event in Shady Grove Saturday, with a parade stepping off at 11 a.m. from Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Following the procession, everyone is invited to the park to shop the craft booths, enjoy good music and games. Chili, hot dogs and drinks will be free.
It’s not too late to place a luminary in memory of loved one who has passed away. New luminaries are just $5 and, if you are renewing from last year, the charge is $3. Please contact Pat Bass at 850-464-8582.
Tickets for a hunting/fishing package are currently on sale. The drawing will be held around 1 p.m.
The Shady Grove Council is also selling tickets for a Remington 243 Rifle, black synthetic stock, with scope, and a Penn Spinning Reel and Rod. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Tickets may be purchased from council members or at Rocky’s 98 and Shady Grove stores, as well as from Perry Pawn. Tickets will also be sold Saturday until the drawing.
For those who wish to have a craft booth, the cost is $15 if your craft is handmade; $25 if you are re-selling purchased goods. Please call Claire Hatcher at 850-253-5120 if you need assistance with a craft booth.
JoAnn Wilson is handling the chili cook-off. If you would like to enter, please have your chili at the park by 9:15 a.m. Wilson can be reached at 850-371-2390.
Santa’s Pooches will be featured in the parade. For information and to enter, please call Donna Rowell at 850-584-9011. Pooches should arrive at Shady Grove Church by 10:30 a.m.
