Former governor was a Taylor native

Cary Hardee started life with very humble beginnings only to rise to the top of Florida’s political arena.

He served as Florida’s governor during the state’s “boom period” of the early 1920s and represented a “chamber of commerce” approach to government—conservative as well as progressive.
