The bright, rich sounds of a trumpet drifted through the air as local dignitaries and community members stood for the national anthem at the ground-breaking for the new $19.2 million Perry Primary School Wednesday, Nov. 1.

“In building this school we really listened to our parents and community members. We made sure to put in some extra roadway. We have an extra large parking lot for plenty of parking. We also want to make sure we build a school that was going to be efficient and conserve energy because we wanted to remember our taxpayers in this school as well,” Superintendent Danny Glover Jr. said during the ceremony. “I feel like we’re going to build a very good school here. We’re very excited to break ground and get started.”

Thank you so much for being here today.”
