BREAKING: Severe winter weather closes courthouse Wednesday morning

Property Appraiser Bruce Ratliff announced Tuesday evening (Jan. 2) that “due to the severe weather warnings, the Property Appraiser’s office along with the courthouse offices will be closed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and open from 1 to 5 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday Jan. 3).

“This is to ensure the safety of our customers and our employees. Additional severe weather conditions may require lengthier closings. Please call before coming to the courthouse.”

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of the Big Bend region, including Taylor County.
