Taylor County missed out on most of the snow that kicked off the New Year and delighted many North Florida residents, but the county did receive plenty of rain and ice that created conditions hazardous enough to close public offices and local schools.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a rare “winter storm warning” for much of the Big Bend region, including Taylor County, Wednesday morning.
PHOTO: Many residents looked at the world through car windows frosted with ice Tuesday morning as they navigated through their day. Fences were covered in ice and icicles dropped from welcome signs.
