Man, 78, crushed to death by truck

A Perry man died Wednesday, Jan. 3, after being crushed by a work truck at Cabbage Grove Mill, located some 20 miles west of Perry on U.S. Highway 98.

John A. Butler, 78, was transported by ambulance to Doctors’ Memorial Hospital (DMH), where he later died from his injuries. The ShandsCare air medic helicopter was initially contacted to transport Butler from the scene, but declined to fly because of the weather, local officials said Thursday.
