Work is expected to begin soon on the resurfacing of U.S. 221 (Jefferson Street) through Perry. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project will run from West Cedar Street on the north to East Jones Street on the south and will include the downtown area.
Perry City Manager Bob Brown said FDOT officials have told him that much of the work will be conducted at night to help alleviate traffic issues and impacts to local businesses. Flashing signs on both ends of the project announced a Monday, Jan. 8, start date and construction signage was erected this week.
