Lights… camera… fireworks!

Last summer, a crew of film students from Southeastern University spent several days in Perry interviewing a cross-section of individuals — war veterans and descendants of Taylor County pioneer families — for a documentary project. The documentary is now complete, and the Taylor County Historical Society has announced a premiere date of Saturday, March 10, at Rosehead Park.

“In addition to the movie screening, we will also have a fireworks show — which was originally planned during our New Year’s Eve event, but was cancelled due to bad weather,” President J.T. Davis said. Historical Society members will have the opportunity for a “sneak peak” at a “members only” screening slated Monday, Jan. 15, during the society’s regular meeting.
