Parking lot will cost county $34,350

The final work on the new Supervisor of Elections building on U.S. 19 — namely paving the facility’s parking lot — will soon be underway in hopes that Supervisor Dana Southerland can complete the office transfer in time for the 2018 election cycle.

At its Dec. 12 meeting, the Taylor County Commission voted to proceed with paving the parking lot, as well as paying for a survey of the property. Neither item was on the commission’s agenda for the meeting, but the board declared an emergency due to time constraints involved with the upcoming election cycle.
