Man, 27, dies in accidental shooting

Reckless gunplay with a loaded firearm led to the tragic death of a young father-to-be early Sunday morning, Jan. 14, at his home in downtown Perry.

Michael James, 27, sustained massive internal blood loss after shooting himself in the stomach with a 9mm handgun, investigators said. He was unresponsive when officers arrived at his home at 303 Quincy Street just after 5 a.m.
