Barbara Ann Russell

Barbara Ann Russell, 72, died Jan. 15, 2018, in Eridu at her home surrounded by her family. Barbara was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Shady Grove to Luther Wilson and Zettie Walters Wilson.

Barbara was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, she chose to stay home to raise her children and take care of her husband. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing, and looking for old bottles and arrowheads. She loved her grandbabies, and was the best Nanny Bob ever; she loved to shop for them and dote on them whenever she could. Barbara loved the small things in life, and was grateful for them. She will truly be loved and missed by her family.

Barbara was preceded in death by: her parents, Luther Wilson and Zettie Walters Wilson; her sister, Marylee Horton; and her brother, Thomas Wilson.

She is survived by: her husband of 53 years, R.C. Russell; her children, Tony Russell (Michelle), Timothy Russell, Ricky Russell (Sheila), Jody Russell and Kathryn Russell Lago (Jonathan); sisters, Lucille Knowles and Norma Jean Horner; brothers, Udell Wilson and Davis Wilson; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday) at 3 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Bro. Danny Lundy officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery (Wildcat Cemetery). The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
