Living in a small town definitely has its perks: friendly neighbors, an overall more relaxed way of life and — saving the best for last — less traffic. However living in a small town can also have its drawbacks, as the team tasked with building the new Perry Primary School (PPS) recently discovered.
According to Taylor County School District Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator Dan Anderson, funding for the new school was cut by more than $300,000 after the Department of Education (DOE) refused to recognize any funding above the state’s “allowable cost per student station.”
