Franklin Delano Russell Sr., 75, died Feb. 10, 2018. Frank was born May 20, 1942, in Salem to Barney Russell and Clifford Davis Russell.
Frank was employed at RCA Cape Kennedy for 12 years before moving back to Perry, where he was born and lived for the rest of his life. Frank was a Taylor County County Commissioner for 22 years. He was also a logger and mobile home mover and was a teacher at Taylor Tech and a friend to all.
Frank was preceded in death by: his two brothers, Bryant Russell and Gene Russell.
He is survived by: three sisters, Juanita Pettitt, Margie Cooper, and Shirley Garvin; and his loving family of 51 years, his wife Linda Russell, Franklin D. Russell Jr. and wife Darby Russell; and two beautiful grandchildren, Hayden and Piper Russell of Flat Rock, Mich. He also had a host of nieces and nephews, mostly of Taylor County.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home of Perry with Bro. David McMullen officiating. Interment services will follow immediately afterwards in New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, at Burns Funeral Home of Perry. All arrangements are under the direction of Burns Funeral Home of Perry.
