Faced with blunt criticism that at times veered toward outright derision, the Perry City Council is moving to suspend an amended ordinance that prohibited the disposal of trash classed as “white goods” (i.e. appliances, furniture, mattresses, etc.) in city-of-ways.

The majority were there to express opposition to an amended ordinance that effectively halted the city’s practice of collecting “white goods” (i.e. used appliances, furniture, etc.) from local right-of-ways and hauling the items to the landfill for residents, as well as a defunct proposal to station a mobile, once-a-month collection site at Loughridge Park.
