Man dies after hitting deer with 4-wheeler

Walter Alan Davis enjoyed sharing with his wife and children the typical pastimes found in a rural community–fishing, hunting, riding ATVs and mudbogging.

The 38-year-old grandson of Hoke and Helen Davis (former owners/operators of Chaparral Steakhouse) was also an avid Florida Gator fan.

Family members gathered Sunday, June 2, to say their final farewells to Davis, who was killed in an ATV accident near his home in Union, S.C., on Wednesday, May 29.
