Akeena Remonte Simpo

Akeena Remonte Simpo, 30, died March 1, 2018. Akeena was born in Madison to Dianna Mills and Jerome Blackshear on July 22, 1987.

Akeena was raised and educated in Perry and was a member of the Temple of God Baptist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Dianna Mills and Jerome Blackshear; a son, Akeena Simpo Jr.; seven daughters, Akeema, Ahzeriah, Zariah, Rhaynna, Akeela, Kareenah and Serenity Simpo; a special child, Willie Donaldson; three sisters, Terarra Simmons, Hermeshia Waddell and Juwan Blackshear; brothers, Herbert Waddell Jr. and Derion Powell; maternal grandmother, Shirley Jean Austin; paternal grandfather, Isaac Arnold; a special friend, Gayle Dobson; and a host of other loving aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, at 12 p.m., at the Temple of God Baptist Church. Internment will follow at Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 9, from 5-7 p.m., at Trinity Funeral Home of Perry.
